This papyrus is for one of the most fascinating women of all times and ages, Cleopatra, the great Egyptian Queen. She had great intelligence and beauty, and she used both to further Egypt’s political aims. She was married to Julius Caesar who proclaimed her as a Queen of Egypt around 51 BC. After his death, she was in a love affair with Marc Antony whose wife, Octavia, was furious and declared war on the Queen. Later, Cleopatra committed suicide tradition says by the bite of a poisonous asp.
